The ranch is blessed with a reputation of having some of the very best deer in central Texas. The whitetail deer have been managed on this ranch for at least 30 years. It was being managed before most people even thought about managing deer. The buck to doe ration is approximately 1 to 1. Some of the high quality bucks on the ranch will score in excess of 170 B&C. In addition, there is an Elk herd of excellent quality with 4-6 trophy bulls, blackbuck, Addax, Oryx and Zebra.
WATER:
5642.29 feet of the San Saba River frontage. There is a concrete dam that forms a large lake which backs up water for more than a quarter mile. Much of this water is 6 to 8 feet in depth and provides for excellent fishing. There are 4 wells that furnish water over the ranch. Ther is also a creek that runs through the center of the ranch which is also dammed up and the water runs at all times. This is a beautiful area that is spring fed and provides water for wildlife and livestock.
